A message from Theta Zeta

My name is Jillian Smith, and I am honored to serve as the president of Alpha Gamma Delta. On behalf of all our sisters, I extend a warm welcome to you. At Alpha Gamma Delta our members are talented, and passionate about making a difference. We celebrate each other's achievements, support one another through challenges, and contribute positively to our campus and community. Whether through our social events, leadership opportunities, or community service projects, something exciting is always happening within our sisterhood.During the first few weeks of college, we all experience the same emotions, sadness as we leave behind high school friends, the nervousness of meeting our first roommate, and the overwhelming excitement of knowing that we are now in control of our path. These experiences are what make college worth it, to grow and learn alongside peers of alike minds. However, for myself, it was not until I joined Alpha Gam that I felt like I was truly home at Randolph Macon. The women of AGD welcomed me with open arms and dedicated time to understanding who I was and all of my many passions. Over these past three years, I have seen hurt and hardship alongside my sisters, and they are truly the reason I am here today. I have learned to trust and respect these women, as they have never wavered in their dedication to our sisterhood. This means a phone call when you aren't home at the right time, a drive around campus when it feels like everything's falling apart, a Just Dance competition when the giggles set in, and so much more. The friends I have found in Alpha Gam will always be my sisters, some will stand by me on my wedding day, and others I will run into in a grocery store 15 years from now. But one thing is certain we will have something great to talk about, as our sisterhood is boundless.
